Our Rooms
Little Dreamers (6 weeks - 12 months)
In Little Dreamers the children are aged between 6 weeks and 12 months, although we will always consider the individual needs and stage of development of the child.

Children develop quickly in the Early Years and are born ready, able and eager to learn.  We have a sensory approach to support children in this group as children of this age have a natural instinct to explore and investigate objects and people around them through their senses.
We introduce the children to a variety of activities that support all aspects of the children’s development within the three prime areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage including the introduction of heuristic baskets which consist of a variety of everyday objects of varying textures to provide opportunities for the children to explore and investigate their environment.

It is through these sensory experiences and positive relationships that children begin to learn and develop. The staff team work closely with the parent’s/carers to follow the child’s familiar routines from home to support the settling in process for the child.
Humphreys Corner (6 weeks - 12 months)
In Humphrey's Corner the children are aged between 12-18 months of age although we will always consider the individual needs and stage of development of the child.

It is around this age that babies become more mobile and generally start walking. The room provides space and suitable furniture and resources to support and encourage this developmental milestone.

Practitioners will plan and provide a variety of activities to support all aspects of the children’s development within the three prime areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage including activities such as painting, sand and water play, singing and dancing and much more.

Humphrey's Corner have their own separate garden area which has soft surfacing to allow all children to access the outdoors safely and often the children will be able to free flow between indoor and outdoor activities.

Dolphins (18 months - 2 years)

As the children become more independent they require opportunities to make decisions independently and experience a range of activities that will encourage and support all areas of learning and development.

Our Discoverers and Explorers room is a large open plan area which like Dolphins has direct access to the outdoor area to encourage the children to free flow between indoor and outdoor activities.

Within this room there is access to ICT equipment including an interactive white board which the children can access to draw pictures and play games that are fun but support the children’s learning and development.

Pre School (3 - 5 years)
In Preschool the children are aged between 3-5 years although we will always consider the individual needs and stage of development of the child.

We feel that our role at this stage is to provide rich learning environments, opportunities and resources to encourage all areas of learning in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and to support the children in the preparation for school.

The children are encouraged to be independent, make their own choices, take safe risks and develop friendships with their peers.

Over all the children are provided with opportunities to become confident, independent individuals ready to embrace the journey of education ahead of them.
Within the preschool room the children have access to ICT equipment including two interactive white boards which the children can access to support their writing skills, drawing and play interactive games that support the children’s learning and development.

The children in preschool have direct access to the outdoor area to encourage the children to free flow between indoor and outdoor activities.

We have an external language teacher who comes into Preschool once a week, the children are currently learning basic French and in the past the children have received Spanish sessions too.
